Student Council Christmas Collection

Posted December 4th, 2012

The Student Council of St. Augustine Prep is asking for the help and support from our community during this Christmas season. We have been blessed with the opportunity to help nine children from the Brooklyn, NY area celebrate a more joyous Christmas this year. Also, we are collecting for numerous organizations in our area. Each of the four classes at the school, freshmen through seniors, will be assigned two or three age groups and genders for which to bring in gifts. We are hoping to collect shoes, clothing, age appropriate toys and any other items for children of these ages. Items need to be donated by Friday, December 14. We hope that our students take on the responsibility of getting a gift for a needy child. Through the act of buying a gift for someone in need, our students can learn a great lesson. If our students can recognize the needs of others, then they can learn a great Christmas lesson: “It is in giving that we receive.”
