Students Organize “Project Hometown Hero” Collection
Posted March 7th, 2014
As a part of their Caritas Project, Ryan Cliver (Class of 2015) and Samuel Pettit (Class of 2015) have organized a “Project Hometown Hero” drive to send essential supplies to active-duty soldiers. The drive will begin on Monday, March 10. Cliver and Pettit are collecting cold drink mixes, any dried foods (trail mix, power bars, et cetera). In addition to food and drink items, toiletries such as sunblock, body wash, and moleskin are also welcome. No canned goods, home-made food, or no aerosol cans (pressurized cans) can be collected. Disposable hand warmers, athletic socks and lifesavers/breath mints are also in demand.
There will be four bins outside of the Main Office in the Forum (one for each class). The class that collects the most items will be granted a dress-down day.
