Student Organizes Wiffleball Tournament to Fund Police K-9 Unit

Posted April 8th, 2014

St. Augustine Prep student, Grant Schoenfeldt (Class of 2015) is hosting a 4-on-4 wiffleball tournament to help raise funds for the Glassboro Police K-9 Unit.  The goal for the project is to help supply some essential items to the K-9 department, such as food and water, housing/shelter, training equipment, bullet/ballistic-proof dog vests, air conditioning units for the K-9 cars, veterinarian care and medical supplies, and more. All funds raised will also help start a K-9 retirement fund for the dogs who will be leaving the force soon.  There will also be a dress down day on Friday, April 11, for $5 in support of this project.  The tournament will be held April 19 in East New Street Park in Glassboro, NJ. There is a $500 cash prize for the first place team. For more information on the project, how to donate, or how to register for the tournament, email Grant Schoenfeldt at schoenfeldt.grant@hermits.org or click here.
