Prep Talk
Student Spotlight: Dale Shober ’16
Posted November 25th, 2015
We love “spotlighting” students here at the Prep. This week’s candidate is Dale Shober, who shared his thoughts on the Brotherhood:
“In the course of my time here at St. Augustine, many people have asked me why I chose to come here, why it is so great, and other similar questions. I often have trouble explaining why I enjoy it so much, and end up giving an answer talking about all the good things we have to offer but not really expressing what I mean to say. The academics, athletics, and other tangible programs here are good, but that is not what makes our school what it is. As much as I do not want to fall into a cliché, it’s the Brotherhood.
You can get good things out of any high school. We are different here because of the people. It is not just my fellow students that make St. Augustine great, although that is a contributing factor, the faculty here is excellent as well. My experience here would not have been the same without the relationships I built here with my teachers over the years. So, although we may have a beautiful campus and strong athletics, the reason the Prep is different from every other school is because of the people. I would like to thank all of you that have made my experience here as wonderful as it has been.” Dale Shober, Class of 2016
