Students Participate in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Posted October 25th, 2021

St. Augustine Prep students recently participated in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the school’s chapel.  As this is a new experience for several students, Campus Ministry helped to teach the intricacies of this ancient devotion to all of Prep’s Theology classes.

Hermits participate in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Adoration to God is shown in many ways; however, in Eucharistic Adoration, students are taught to spend time adoring the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist.  In Catholicism, the belief is that Christ is truly and substantially present in the Eucharist, the Blessed Sacrament, and is given the same adoration and devotion that is accorded to Christ.  After learning of the full significance of the day, it was edifying for the school community to see so many students volunteer for this spiritual exercise.

This day is just one example of the significance that faith-formation holds in the development of our students.

The Office of Campus Ministry is the center of the Prep’s spiritual life. Through the goal of “teaching as Jesus did,” the Ministry Team aspires to convey and perpetuate Catholic and Augustinian values and morals to the school community. The spirituality of our young men is strengthened, while also nurturing their attributes and goodwill.  To learn more about Campus Ministry at the Prep, join us for Hermits Open House on Thursday, November 4 or Friday, November 5!
