Surf Team Wins Northeast Region High School State Championships

On Sunday, November 3, the St. Augustine Prep Surf Team took first place in the National Scholastic Surfing Association’s Northeast Region High School State Championships in Ocean City. With strong performances from Perry Siganos (Class of 2015), Sean Taylor (Class of 2015), and Mike Penza (Class of 2014), the Hermits snapped a 16-year winning streak by Ocean City High School. With this landmark victory for the program, the Hermits Surf Team will go on to the NSSA National Championships in California, which will be held in the Spring on a date to be determined.
