The Three R’s for the Environment – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle
Posted October 12th, 2012
The Environmental Club is collecting printer cartridges (inkjet and laser) and non-damaged small electronics (old ipods – all generations, mp3 players, gps systems, and digital cameras) as part of our recycling program.
The Environmental Club is also collecting cell phones and any phone accessories (even if the phone/accessory is broken) in support of Project Hopeline. Project Hopeline is sponsored by Verizon Wireless, which distributes refurbished phones to victims of domestic violence. Verizon removes all confidential information from any donated phones.
Donations will reduce dangerous pollutants in our landfills and will be reused or recycled. It’s a win-win!
These collections will run from October 15 until May 15. Collection bins will be stationed in the Dining Hall and in room 54. Please put all donations in a small plastic zip-loc bag (These will be recycled, too). Please contact Mrs. McHugh (mrs.mchugh@hermits.com) with any questions. Thanks in advance for your support!
