Three St. Augustine Prep students, Dante Marroccelli (Class of 2012), Matthew Marroccelli (Class of 2016) and Anthony Gaunt (Class of 2016) who on August 15, each earned the rank of Eagle Scout, Boy Scouts of America’s highest rank. All three are members of Boy Scout Troop 580, chartered by the Millville Elks B.P.O.E #580.

Eagle requirements include earning at least 21 merit badges and demonstrating scout spirit through the Boy Scout Oath and Law, service, and leadership. This includes an extensive service project that the Scouts plan, organize, lead, and manage. Matthew’s service project involved the replacement of fence posts and chain rail at the Millville Army Air Field Museum, ensuring the safety of museum patrons and protection for museum property. Anthony and Dante completed service projects at the Willow Oak Natural Area in Vineland. Anthony created suitable parking spaces for visitors to the Natural Area trails to ensure their vehicles could safely park. Dante installed 360′ of guard rail, a gate and two benches to protect and preserve the trails, and to provide safety and a resting place for visitors.
