Student Service during Thanksgiving

Posted December 1st, 2014

Thanksgiving is a time to be with family and count our blessings, but at St. Augustine Prep, it is also a time of service for our students.

On November 25, Avy Bermudez III, Class of 2016, and Assistant Baseball Coaches Avy Bermudez Jr. and Edwin Santiago, participated in a turkey giveaway at Monroe High School in the Bronx, NY. Avy spent the day preparing care packages which contained a turkey, canned goods, sweet potatoes, and bread, and then helped distribute them to the less-fortunate families. More than 400 turkeys were given away by the Cesar Presbott Foundation to needy families, helping to make the holiday a joyous one for all.

Avy exemplifies our mission for this school year, We Notice and We Respond.
