World Language National Honor Society Induction Ceremony

Imagine being able to go to another country and be able to understand a map, talk to a cab driver, or even discuss a poem. Imagine making connections with people across the barriers of language, culture, and history. Imagine the ways your personality and life might change when you meet and communicate with people whose cultural background differs from yours. Imagine the difference you might make in the lives of others, inside the U.S. and out, who are reaching from across the world to you. Imagine the difference those people might make to you.

Prep students who attended the World Language National Honor Society Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, April 29th are individuals who have committed themselves to foreign language study.

The Latin Honor Society inducted six new members who have attained a 93-grade point average over three semesters. Moderator Mr. Brendon Boston gave a brief introduction in Latin introducing his cabinet leadership that, in unison, recited the pledge in Latin along with the new inductees.
The Spanish Honor Society, which is a chapter member of the national organization, inducted approximately 25 new members and re-affirmed 30 memberships. Newly inductees attained a grade point average of 90 or above over three consecutive semesters. The Spanish Honor Society induction, which was done bilingually, was led by Executive members Alexander and Benjamin Clark, Ernest Alvino, and Allan Weidman. Mrs. Helen McSweeny was their moderator.

This year’s Spanish Honor Society senior members were Alex Clark, Benjamin Clark, Ernest Alvino, Benjamin Clark, Austen Jones, Michael Danovich, Robert Lancaster, and Allen Weidman.

This year’s  Spanish Honor Society junior returning members were Christian Bik, Nathaniel Bledsoe, William Chillari, James DeLaurentis, Dante Enos, Blaine Fox, Mark Keller, Sean Kennedy, Michael McAuliffe, Michael McCourt, Luke McLoughlin, Thomas Reed, Marc Reeder, Nicholas Schleider, Nicholas Shober, William Simpson, Steven Sontag, and Matthew Sutter.

The 2015  Spanish Honor Society new inductees were Alexander Blackley, Chase Knetchel, Gianni Finnizio, Joshua Drexler, John Snediker, Connor Mills, Ethan Kazmierski, Daniel Pavlik, Spencer Infranco, Brendan Aldrich, Joshua Smail, Tyler Soto, Declan Barrett , Jacob Galushka, Nicholas Giangiulio, Mick Kirchman, Charles McCardell, Julian Silva, William Duke, Robert McCormick, Connor Peterson, Kyle Ross, Anthony Alfe, Nicholas Amechi, Samuel Andolaro, Jasanvir Bhullar, Chase Bisignaro, Alex Brescia, Damon Briggs, Ronald Buck, Zachary Capriotti, Samuel DeMatte, Scott Guetens, Timothy Jurasik, Connor Murray, Alexander Rosenbleet, Anthony Sulveta, and Alex Lauth.
