How to Use Google Meet for Remote Learning Days

Prepared by Mr. Garufi, Director of Information Technology

Due to inclement weather, it’s possible that in the future we could have Cyber Learning days. Cyber Learning days are when classes are held remotely using Google Meet video conferencing. The following is a brief tutorial on how to join a Google Meet conference:

– The night before or early that morning, your teacher will send you a Google Calendar invite for the class period you have with them. This invite will come in the form of an email but will also be present in your Google Calendar.

– To access the meeting, please go to https://calendar.google.com and find the class period your teacher has sent you.

– The next step is to click on the calendar meeting to show the properties of it.

– Once open click on the Join with Google Meet button. This will open a new window and bring you to the video conference. Pay attention to any on screen prompts, such as granting microphone and camera permissions before entering the meeting. Click the Join Now button to be placed in the meeting

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please email the IT Department (ITStaff@Hermits.com) or your teacher directly.
