BROTHERHOOD BEGINS.
St. Augustine Preparatory School introduced its eighth-grade program in the 2021-2022 academic year, offering young men in South Jersey a unique opportunity to begin their high school experience early. This initiative supports critical academic and character development, aligning with our commitment of over six decades to serving the South Jersey community and our mission: To Set Hearts on Fire with a Passionate Search for Truth, Unity, and Love.
Whether you’re familiar with or exploring our offerings for the first time, we are here to answer any questions. Below, you’ll find helpful information as you consider your son’s academic future.
A Values Based Curriculum.
The Eighth-Grade Program at St. Augustine Prep provides a transformative and holistic experience for young men on the brink of high school. Blending academic rigor with personal growth, the program supports students and their families in a welcoming, safe environment through this critical development period.
Focusing on academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement, our program features small classes that ensure close guidance and meaningful connections with mentors and peers. Through interdisciplinary projects, experiential learning, and community service, eighth-graders at St. Augustine Prep grow in confidence, develop leadership skills, and form a strong sense of brotherhood as Hermit Brothers. Trimester linguistic and artistic exploratory classes prepare the students for high school course selections. Our unique third-semester program also provides students with real-world learning opportunities, setting the stage for future academic and personal success.
At every turn, we challenge students to think critically, write and speak with clarity, and strive for excellence. Through group meetings and personal mentorship, students embark on a journey of self-discovery and build healthy habits, preparing them to tackle life’s many questions, big and small. We invite you and your son to explore life in the “Proud and Peaceful Glen” by contacting our Admissions Team at admissions@hermits.com.
