Student Life

Overview

“Empathy, integrity, and global awareness are core values central to the mission of St. Augustine Prep. The work of the Office of Student Life is focused on growing these competencies through each student’s experiences outside of the classroom. Whether participating in a sport, meeting a deadline for a school publication or learning the choreography for the school musical, the Prep’s diverse offering of extracurricular programs allows students to explore and develop their interests and talents in limitless ways.”

– Mr. John Huscher ’85 P’18, Dean of Student Leadership

The Richland Rowdies

School spirit at St. Augustine Prep is incomparable. Prep students, otherwise known as the Richland Rowdies, exhibit the best aspects of athletic fans: loyalty, organization, and creativity. All Prep students are Rowdies, and those athletes not in season take great pride in supporting their Hermit Brothers as they represent the school as scholar-athletes.

The Brotherhood

The term Brotherhood describes the fraternity of men who were, are, and will be a part of the St. Augustine Prep community, both during and long after their time as students. Incoming freshmen are introduced to the Hermit Brotherhood on the first full day of school in a poignant ceremony that includes students, faculty, administration, and parents. During the service, Prep seniors place navy blazers, emblazoned with the St. Augustine school patch, on their newest Hermit Brothers. From that day forward, the Brotherhood is strengthened and fostered by the environment and culture practiced daily by students and faculty.
