2nd Annual Fr. Reilly Poker Tournament a Success!

Posted March 19th, 2015

The 2nd Annual Fr. Reilly Invitational poker tournament was held on Sunday, March 8th at the Tropicana in Atlantic City. With the shouts of gamblers echoing throughout the casino, a legion of St. Augustine Prep tournament players gathered around 12 tables in the poker room for an afternoon of fun and competition.

Fr. Donald Reilly, O.S.A., D. Min., President of St. Augustine Prep, and the host of the tournament, bet aggressively and left his table after two hours of play. A bottle of wine was given to Mr. Dominic DiCicco as a prize for knocking Father out of the tournament.
“While I would have enjoyed to remain in the competition longer, I had a great time watching some great players and mingling with all of the guests throughout the day,” said Fr. Reilly.

The tournament raised over $5,000 and will support the Presidential Grant Fund which provides tuition assistance to St. Augustine Prep families during their time of need. The final four players decided to split the pot with each taking home a payday of $1,200. They also generously made a donation back to the school from their proceeds.

The winners were Eric Krwawecz ’05, Mr. Dominic DiCicco, friend of the Prep, Tom Rebbecchi, friend of the Prep, and Arret Dobson, father of Harlon Dobson ’16.

St. Augustine Prep would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Tony Rodio, CEO, and the entire staff of the Tropicana for their continued support.
