Hermits Provide Holiday Help to the Carmelite Nuns

Mary Smail, a St. Augustine Prep employee who works in Dining Services, has a daughter who is a Carmelite Sister in Brooklyn. Each year at this time, Sister Marie Therese and her fellow Sisters provide Ms. Smail with a list of extremely needy children, and each year the entire St. Augustine Prep community rises to the occasion. This year, at least three different faculty-members, Mrs. Diana Bertonazzi, Mrs. Louann Whitman, and Mrs. Nancy McHugh among them, organized class and club collections of gifts for both the needy children and the Carmelite Sisters themselves.
