Prep Grad Elected to Phi Beta Kappa
St. Augustine Prep graduate, Kurt Ostrow (Class of 2009), has been elected to membership in the Brown University chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most prestigious academic honors society in the nation, and it sets high standards not only for the selection of students elected to membership but also for the institutions which may sponsor a chapter. Currently, chapters exist in only 283 institutions of higher learning in the United States. The society’s motto is “Love of learning is the guide of life.”
Kurt was an honor student during all four of his years at the Prep. During that time, he completed eight Advanced Placement (AP) courses and twice scored a perfect 800 on the Critical Reading portion of the SAT. He recently received his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Brown University.
Congratulations to Kurt on this tremendous achievement and for the excellence that he has demonstrated throughout his academic career.
