Nelson ’16 Signs Pro Contract

Posted August 26th, 2020

RICHLAND, N.J. – Sa’eed Nelson ’16, former Hermits Basketball state champion turned record-breaking NCAA point guard for American University, has signed his first professional contract.  The Pleasantville native is off to Germany to take the floor for MLP Academics Heidelberg.  MLP Academics Head Coach Branislav Ignjatovic was ecstatic and shared the following after Nelson signed on the dotted line, “We took a lot of time finding our point guard because the importance of this position is high. He is a very good defender, can score in many different ways, but also finds his teammates. I am happy we could get a player of his caliber. We are awaiting a lot from him, but are convinced that he will help us win games”

Sa’eed’s impact in Richland stretched beyond his masterful play on the court – his performance in the classroom matched his athletic ability and he approached maintaining the relationships he held with classmates and faculty members with an inspiring passion and an infectious smile.

The Hermit Brotherhood is looking forward to following the next step in his storied career!
