Prep Varsity Baseball Team Practices in Sunny Myrtle Beach

Posted April 18th, 2015

The St. Augustine Prep Varsity Baseball Team, along with four coaches, flew down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Monday, April 6th to kick off spring training. The annual event, which has occurred for the past eight years, gives the team the chance to play and practice in warmer weather, as well as spend time getting to know each other. While the weather was in the 40s here in South Jersey, the team was enjoying the beautiful 70 degree temperatures. When the team wasn’t practicing, they managed a 3-0 winning record, beating two teams from Ohio and one team from Kentucky. The team played their first game at the brand new Coastal Carolina University Baseball field, a great experience for players to see what a quality Division 1 baseball program has to offer, as most players strive to receive a Division 1 scholarship to continue their baseball careers after high school. The next two games were played at The Ripken Experience which consist of nine baseball fields. The players and staff returned on Friday, April 10th.
