Dear St. Augustine Prep Community,
On behalf of the Faculty, Staff and Leadership Team, I extend sincere words of appreciation for a very successful first week of the academic year 2020-2021. It is very exciting to be back on our vibrant campus. To the entering class – 165 strong, I encourage you to explore your academic interests and, just as importantly, to take risks – intellectual, social, and cultural- to stretch yourselves over the next four years as you prepare for your future.
To the Classes of 2021, 2022, and 2023, I offer my sincere congratulations for your academic success thus far as well as a heartfelt encouragement as you continue your journey to achieve your educational and personal goals. I ask you to also welcome our new Hermit Brothers into our supportive Catholic, Augustinian community as you were welcomed upon your arrival.
Amid the challenges of the virus, this year will be a time for our campus community to look for many possible opportunities to affirm our mission. In that spirit, the faculty and staff have done incredible work to serve our students during this challenging time. We want to give them guidance and support while they continue to be present to our students. In that regard, please know that St. Augustine Prep will offer remote-learning child care to all employees in a safe and restricted area in the Vincent Center.
No words can express my gratitude to our families for their patience and positive attitude over the five months. Thank you, in particular, for supporting the class schedule for the week of September 14. Guiding the Prep through a global pandemic is nothing we ever foresaw. We have learned a great deal about the strength of our mission as we continue to take precautions for the health and safety of the young men entrusted to our care.
On a final note, please complete the Ruvna Questionnaire that is sent via text or email every morning. This document will ensure that our school continues to be safe for your son. Ruvna is a permanent and efficient replacement to the google form instituted at the beginning of the school year. To ensure that you are receiving the Ruvna Questionnaire, please confirm that your contact information in MyPrep is current. I wish you the best for a restful and relaxing Labor Day Weekend. Please be assured of my prayers for you and your families.
In Augustine,
Fr. Robert J. Murray, O.S.A.
