8th Graders inducted into the National Junior Honor Society

In a heartwarming ceremony held this morning at the Consalo Dining Hall, St. Augustine Prep proudly welcomed new members to the National Junior Honor Society. Members of the 8th grade Class of 2028 who earned the distinction were joined by a gathering of friends and family.  The morning ceremony was truly a showcase of academic excellence and Augustinian spirit which was passionately captured by guest speaker, Mr. Brendan Towell (Theology Faculty and Director of Engagement).

The ceremony was led by Conor Murphy ’13, the Prep’s National Honor Society moderator. Head of School, Fr. Robert J. Murray, OSA and Dean of Academics, Mrs. McHugh, presented the 8th-grade students with pins and Certificates of Membership, symbolizing their hard work and commitment to the school’s values of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

Fr. Murray, OSA, expressed his pride and confidence in the students’ future achievements. “This is a tremendous achievement and one that you and your families should all be proud of,” he remarked. “We have no doubt we will see many of these same students receiving awards four years from now when they graduate from the Prep as seniors.”

The ceremony not only highlighted the academic achievements of our youngest Hermits but also reinforced the supportive and academically challenging environment fostered at the Prep. It was a clear demonstration of the school’s dedication to nurturing young minds and preparing them for future success as they enter their high school years at St. Augustine.

The school community extends its congratulations to the newest members of the National Junior Honor Society and looks forward to their continued success at St. Augustine Prep and beyond!
