Class of 2014 Wins Pennies for Patients Contest

Posted April 25th, 2013

The Interact Club’s Battle of the Classes has come to an end.  Victory belongs to the Juniors! The entire junior class will enjoy a dress down day on May 13.

Together, we have raised $681.55 as part of the nationwide campaign called Pennies for Patients, which is part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Youth Program.  27,000 schools nationwide participate in this program; over 1000 of these schools are in NJ.  Our collection campaign, which ran from April 8 – 24, will help people with blood cancers like leukemia lymphoma, and myeloma and help fund 480 researchers in 15 different countries on five continents. By raising funds, St Augustine Prep supported families in the LLS financial aid program and helped our local hero, Santina, who lives in Tuckahoe, NJ.

Result details are:  Juniors $272.85, Sophomores $160.26, Seniors $158.38, and Freshman $90.06. Thanks to everyone who participated – you helped many cancer patients!
