Faculty Member Part of the “Women Pioneers of Jazz” Series

Mrs. Mary Lou Newnam, a music teacher here at the Prep, participated in a series at the Ocean City Free Public Library entitled, “Women Pioneers of Jazz.” An accomplished musician, Mrs. Newnam performed with a five-piece band at the Ocean City Library on Sunday, January 22, and afterwards led a discussion on women pioneers of the genre, highlighting some of the most influential musicians from the 1930s to the present.
