Freshman Grandparents Enjoy Lunch With Grandsons

Posted October 26th, 2012

On Wednesday, October 24, nearly 190 grandparents joined their grandsons for morning Mass and a pasta luncheon during the annual tradition of Freshman Grandparents Day.  They were welcomed by Mr. David Zappariello, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement with Fr. Horn blessing the group and offering a prayer of thanksgiving.  Mrs.  Paula Thibodeau Hirsch, president of the Grandparents Association and Mrs. Kathy Shelton, Scrip coordinator, made presentations.  Fr. Reilly, president, addressed the grandparents and lauded the efforts and accomplishments of the Class of 2016.

Everyone in attendance was moved by the homily and sated by the food.  The lucky grandparent whose birthday was closest to October 24 went home with a lovely mum centerpiece.  This event gets bigger and better every year.  Thanks to all those who attended and who volunteered their services.
