On Friday night the Hermits took on the Lenape Indians at Lenape High School.  In the first quarter, Julian Turney ’25 started off strong for the Hermits offense by scoring two touchdowns for an early lead. Antonio Freund ’23 also started off hot by making both PAT attempts, with many more to come. The Hermits continued to pour it on in the second quarter, scoring three touchdowns! After an explosive run by Julian Turney, and another by Roman Coney ’26, the Hermits continued to stymie the Indians offense and increased the lead to 28-0. That changed quickly as Lenape’s Macon Lincoln returned a kickoff to put the Indians’ first points of the evening on the board. The Hermits had one more in them for the second quarter, Ryan Gambill ’24 connected with Kyle Helphenstine ’26 to tack on another touchdown!

The Hermits carried the momentum into the second half in the third quarter. Following a 28-yard field goal by Lenape kicker Ethan Blackburn; the Hermits answered quickly courtesy of Tristan McLeer ’24 returning the ensuing kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown! In the fourth quarter, both defenses put on a strong performance allowing zero points. Another dominant outing from the Hermits resulted in a final score of 42-10.

The Hermits’ next opponent has not been determined as of press time but the Hermits Athletics Internship Team will deliver that news when it is announced!
