Posted January 31st, 2012

On January 29, Stephen Rioux (Class of 2013) won the silver medal in sabre at the District 2 Tournament held at North Hunterdon High School in Annandale, NJ.  Twelve schools competed in the tournament. Representing the Prep in their respective categories were Stephen Rioux, Haddon Antonucci, and Brian Heist in the sabre competition; Grant Schoenfeldt, Samuel McClain, and Angelo D’Antonio-Bertagnolli in the foil; and Tyer Schill, J.P. Kolnik, and Bobby Mairone for the epee.

To compete in fencing on the state level in New Jersey is an outstanding accomplishment; New Jersey has the largest and most successful high school fencing program in the nation.

Junior Stephen Rioux will compete in the NJSIAA State Fencing Championship on March 4.
