Little Brothers Visit the Prep

Posted December 14th, 2011

Forty-five little brothers from Folsom Elementary School and forty-five big brothers from St. Augustine Prep joined together for a Christmas party at the Prep on December 12.  The little brothers range in age from six to twelve years old.

On arrival, the young guests were treated to cookies and snacks.  Then all the Bigs left the room and entered together with gifts.  Every little brother left with a Christmas gift.  There were Legos, Nerfs, books, clothes and the most popular remote control cars and jeeps.  All the littles made cards for their big brothers.  The group then moved into the Rodio gym.  Some continued to play with their gifts and other participated in basketball.  At the end of the hour together, the bigs brought their littles to the bus and wished them a Merry Christmas and “see you next year!”

The Big Brother program at the Prep involves two groups (juniors and seniors) who travel on alternate weeks to Folsom Elementary School to tutor, play with, and give good example and support to young students who have some need.

The activity is moderated by Prep faculty member Mrs. Diana Bertonazzi.
