The Athletics Department at St. Augustine Prep recently added three new coaches to an already stellar coaching lineup. All three new coaches are Prep graduates.

The 2012 St. Augustine Prep soccer team will be led by two former coaches who are serving the team in new roles this year. Steve Rolando will be the Head Coach and Ryan Pine will be the team’s Associate Head Coach.

Steve Rolando is a 1987 Prep graduate who coached at West Chester University before returning to St. Augustine Prep to coach alongside Hall of Fame Coach Les Heggan for 19 years. The team won two State Championships during this time period. Ryan Pine is a 1997 Prep graduate who also served as an assistant to Les Heggan, and most recently held the head coaching job at the Friends Select school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania last season.

The wrestling team will also be led by a new coach this season. Bill Ward graduated from the Prep in 1985. He was a three-year captain of a Prep wrestling team that won two State Championships. He was a three-time District Champion and a second place finisher in the NJSIAA Individual State Wrestling Championships in 1985. Ward went on to wrestle at Drexel University and served as team captain for two years. Most recently, he was an assistant coach at Buena Regional High School for 18 years.
