Soccer Coach Les Heggan Announces Retirement

Posted December 7th, 2011

Legendary coach, Les Heggan has decided to step down as the Head Coach of the Prep’s soccer program.  Coach Heggan is the most successful coach in South Jersey Soccer history and has lead the Hermits to multiple South Jersey Championships.  Coach has also won three State Championships including last year’s team that finished 18th in the nation according to ESPN.  In Coach Heggan’s letter to the Athletic Department, he stated, “The best part of my adult life has been spent on the Prep’s athletic fields; it is hard for me to let go of those moments too easily. I have been truly blessed with the number of fine student athletes I have been able to coach along with the amount of success our program has been able to accomplish over my years at the school.”  Coach Heggan has recently sold his house in Williamstown and the long commute to Western Pennsylvania was the primary reason for his resignation.  A new coach is expected to be introduced to the school sometime next week according to Athletic Director Mr. Iaconelli.
