St. Augustine Prep Crew: A Season in Review

The St. Augustine Prep Crew program has a long and proud tradition of excellence on both the local and national levels. In 2013, the team continued to improve on its excellent reputation.

The Varsity 8, a boat from which 6 seniors will go on to row in college, finished as the fastest Varsity 8 in the state of New Jersey and was invited to compete in a national tournament in Tennessee in Mid-June. They were one of two St. Augustine Prep boats to qualify, the other being the Lightweight 8. The tournament featured the some of the best boats in the country. Simply being invited is an impressive accomplishment in and of itself. The school, the program, the athletes, coaches, and families were, as always, well-represented in Tennessee.

The Atlantic City Press recently named St. Augustine Prep the Crew Program of the Year and Coach Ray D’Amico as the Coach of the Year.
