Stage Band Performs in Somers Point

The St. Augustine Prep Stage Band participated in the Somers Point Jazz Festival and clinic on Thursday, April 11. Music teacher Mrs. Newnam and the 19 student musicians spent the day in Somers Point at the Mission Point Church.  In the morning, the students participated in various clinics on jazz improvisation conducted by music faculty members  from Temple University, University of the Arts, and Rowan University. After a pizza lunch, the clinicians gave a brief concert, and the Prep band played, followed by jazz bands from Egg Harbor Township, Mainland Regional, and Ocean City high schools. The Prep students gave a very impressive performance!
