Two Prep Graduates to Compete in Summer Olympics

St. Augustine Prep graduates Andrew Sullivan (Class of 1999) and Pops Mensah-Bonsu (Class of 2002) will compete in the 2012 Summer Olympics as part of the Great Britain men’s basketball team. Both athletes were selected to the team on Thursday, July 5.

Sullivan, the sixth leading scorer in Prep history, played his college basketball at Villanova University and went on to play professionally in Europe. Mensah-Bonsu played at George Washington University before beginning his professional career, which included stints with the Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors, and New Orleans Hornets.

Great Britain will play its first Olympic game on July 29.
