Hermits Athletics Hall of Fame Class of ’22 to be inducted

A collective effort spearheaded by Hermits Alumni Leadership consisting of Paul Rodio ’70 P’09’11 and Brendan Towell (Associate Director of Admissions and Alumni Leadership) along with the Hermits Athletics department led by 1986 alumnus, Michael Rizzo (Director of Athletics) has brought the Hermits Athletics Hall of Fame back to Richland.
This year’s inductees include an impressive list of Hermit legends who have represented the Brotherhood with honor during their time as scholar-athletes. Led by the 2007 undefeated, New Jersey State Champion Hermits Ice Hockey team coached by Mr. Tim Fingerhut, the talented list also includes an inductee that resonates with the entire Prep family – the Richland Rowdies. The moniker did not have officially represent the well-known student section until the mid-to-late 2000s. However, the support of one Hermit Brother for another traces back to the days of the crowds that packed the tiny gym that sat in the current 30’s wing of Augustinian Hall.

The stage is set to honor these talented individuals on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in the Rodio Gymnasium beginning at 5:00 pm. In addition to the celebration of the Hall of Fame Class of 2022, Michael Rizzo will be addressing this year’s event to provide an update on the current state of the Hermits Athletics program. The Hermit Brothers being honored this year have represented the Prep with great honor and have served a significant role in building the foundation of success for today’s Hermit scholar-athlete.
Come home to Richland to join us in celebrating the tradition of athletics at St. Augustine Prep and the brotherhood of the Hermits family!

Tickets for this year’s event may be purchased at hermits.com/halloffame. The event is being hosted on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Rodio Gymnasium in the Buondonno Forum on the campus of St. Augustine Prep. Complimentary cocktails, hor d’oeuvres, and entree stations will be served. The high-energy night will also include an update from Mr. Mike Rizzo ’86, Director of Athletics, on the state of Hermits Athletics. Come celebrate the Prep’s spirit, pride, and sense of community that makes our tradition of athletics so exceptional!
